Jambyn Dashdondog Jambyn Dashdondog has authored many works since he published his first volume, Argatai Khuu (A Clever Boy), from the desk of his secondary school in Bulgan aimag. He has won numerous awards, including the Mongolian Writers' Union prize in 1972 for his books Father, Mother and I and A Boy of the Northern Taiga, the Golden Foal prize from the International Association of Creators for Children of the Mongolian Nations in 1991 for his opera Temuujin and poems for children, and the 1998 Natsagdorj prize for the collection of poems, stories and songs Aranzal Zeerd (Bright Chestnut). In 1978, the lyrics for hs song Tavan Zus (Five Colours) won first prize in the International Children's Song Competition. More than 2 million copies of 10 of his books have been published around the world.
