   Jane Cowen-Fletcher
While serving in the Peace Corps in Benin, West Africa, from 1981 to 1983, Jane Cowen-Fletcher discovered the proverb which she brought to life in It Takes a Village. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Colorado State College and is a graphic artist, author, and illustrator. Ms. Cowen-Fletcher met her husband, Brad, a fellow Peace Corps volunteer, in Benin. They live in South Berwick, Maine, with their new daughter. Mama Zooms was her first book for Scholastic.
