Story in rhyme about a nice man who can sing, dance, draw pictures and tell jokes - but never wants to work. This is how he gets his name "No-I-won't". The people in the village are angry with him and make him leave. After a while they turn against another man, "Yes-I-will" who goes to work like everyone else, but spends all his spare time alone studying, never mixing with other people. His neighbors don't like this either and he too is sent away. Now life in the village seems perfect but after a year goes by the villagers realize something is wrong. They are so bored! They go to the doctor who advises them to bring in someone from outside who has a different sort of character. So both "No-I-won't" and "Yes-I-will" return and everyone is happy. Still, there is no end to this story and the reader is invited to make one up.
