Thacher Hurd Thacher Hurd was born in Burlington, Vermont, but he has lived in California for most of his life and travels its freeways almost every day. Mr.Hurd attended the University of California at Berkeley and received his B.F.A. from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. He now lives with his wife, Olivia, and their young son, Manton, in Berkeley. Axle the Freeway Cat is the fourth picture book Mr. Hurd has written and illustrated. His other books are Hobo Dog, The Quiet Evening, and The Old Chair. |
