The ICDL Main Collection includes outstanding children's books from around the world. Created for children ages 3-13, the collection's focus is on books that help children understand the world around them and the global society in which they live. Most books are in copyright and were selected by experts in children's literature from the country in which the books were published. All books are presented in their original language.
The ICDL Special Collections are primarily historical children's materials published before 1923. The books in each of the Special Collections were selected by the Curator of the Collection at the institution where the physical books are housed. The Special Collections are designed primarily for use by researchers and/or scholars in children's literature, although some titles are also included in the ICDL Main Collection.

NCLC цуглуулга (141 номууд)
Most books in the Special Collection contributed by the Northeast Children's Literature Collection (NCLC) at the University of Connecticut are by Hans Wilhelm, a German author and illustrator living in Connecticut. These books tell stories about a dinosaur named Tyrone who gets into all sorts of trouble; a dog named Waldo who can explain lots of things about our world; bunnies who count; and lots of other animals. Some of the Mr. Wilhelm's books are in other languages, including German, French, Danish, and Norwegian. Other books in the Collection are classics, such as Black Beauty, by Anna Sewell, which tells the story of a wonderful horse and his life in England.
The Northeast Children's Literature Collection (NCLC) at the University of Connecticut seeks and maintains books, manuscripts, illustrations, correspondence, artifacts, and other related materials by authors and illustrators who come from or are associated with the Northeast or the Eastern Seaboard. Within its vast collection, the NCLC contains the Billie M. Levy Collection of Illustrated Children's Literature, the Phyllis Hirsh Boyson Collection, the Black Beauty Collection, the Libraries and Librarians Collection, and manuscript collections of over 100 authors and illustrators. The NCLC retains many works that have received accolades, such as the Newbery, Caldecott, Boston Globe/Horn Book, Pura Belpre, Scott O'Dell, Golden Kite, Phoenix Awards, and many others. In preserving these materials, it is the NCLC's goal to sustain great works of children's literature for university archival purposes, research by members of the academic community, and for future enjoyment by all.
